Letter from Principal Bonacquist, Mar. 12

Filed in Slingerlands by on March 12, 2021

Dear Families,

Today we celebrated that we are Slingerlands Strong!  Our “Tape the Principal to the Wall” fundraiser was very successful!  We raised over $1,000!!!  My favorite comment from a child was, “This is the best day of my life!”  The kids loved it!  Thank you very much for all your support! Check it out!

Virtual Science Fair – I am so proud of our scientists!  Check out their wonderful projects!   Science Fair – password is Slingerlandsscience

The Bethlehem Central United Employees Association is collecting for our area animal shelter and rescue organizations.  We will have boxes placed around the school for children to drop off dog and cat food, toys, leashes, food dishes, collars, towels, etc.  The collection will be from March 15-26.

Friday Spirit Day – Crazy Hair Day is  Friday, March 19

Please drive slowly through the parking lot during drop off and pick up.  I have seen many ‘near misses’ when a child drops something, runs back to the car that is already moving or falls.  As a driver, you cannot always see these things happen, so for the safety of everyone, please slow down when driving through the parking lot.

Have a great weekend!

Upcoming Dates to Remember:

March 17 – Board of Ed Meeting, 7pm

April 2 – No School, Good Friday

April 5-9 No School, Spring Break

April 10 – School Resumes

April 14 – Board of Ed Meeting, 7pm

Cars can enter the parking lot at 9:00.  We will begin letting cars through as soon as the buses are done, which is about 9:15.  If you are running a little late and do not see any staff member still out in the back, you may have to park and walk your child up to the front door and ring the bell.

Dismissal –

Parents will be allowed in the parking lot at 2:55.  When the weather turns bad, we will likely back this time up again to as early as 2:45.

Walkers / Bike Riders –

Bikers and walkers will be released at 3:15.

If it rains and your child will NOT be walking/riding, please contact the office and let us know.

COVID Tracker

Please remember to complete this each morning for each of your children. This needs to be completed everyday, EVEN if your child is home sick or is in quarantine.  If you haven’t completed it, we will be giving you a reminder.
