Letter from Principal Bonacquist, Nov. 27

Filed in Slingerlands by on December 3, 2019

Dear Families,

‘Tis the Season for Giving
As we approach the holidays, the children have several opportunities to practice the skills of showing kindness and generosity toward others in need.

  • BC Food Drive – we will be collecting food items for the Annual BC Caring and Sharing program.  The food drive will run from November 25-December 12.
  • Coins for Caring The children in Mrs. Kourt and Mrs. Messier’s classes are doing a coin drive to raise money to purchase gift cards for the food baskets that are part of the Caring and Sharing program.  You can donate change or gift cards. The gift cards should be to grocery stores (Hannaford, Price Chopper and Shop Rite) and it is helpful if they are in $25 increments. Please write the amount directly on the gift card.  We will be collecting until December 12th. So far we have collected 31 gift cards!! This is from coins collected and donated gift cards. Our goal is to be able to donate 50 gift cards to the Caring and Sharing Program to go with the food basket. Thank you for your support!!
  • Toys for Tots –  There are collection bins in the lobby, by the cafeteria and at the entrance to the K-1 wing.  Join us in helping young children in need by donating an unwrapped toy to the Toys for Tots toy drive. We are collecting toys until December 13th.  Our bins are starting to fill up! Thank you for your support with this important initiative!

Staff Appreciation Lunch is coming up – December 3rd

Winter Clothing

Please make sure your child is prepared with warm clothing to go outside for recess.  We go outside everyday! In addition to a warm coat, hat and gloves, children should have boots.   Even the blacktop area can be slushy! In order to go in the field to play in the snow, children must have boots and snow pants.

Virtual Backpack: A site which will have copies of forms and flyers that are sent home, and information about upcoming events.  Public With Parents 2019-2020
