Letter from Principal Bonacquist, Oct. 30

Filed in Slingerlands by on October 30, 2020

Dear Families,

Dress for the Weather!

Our goal is to get the kids outside every day! Please make sure your child has a jacket to wear when they go outside. They will soon need a hat and mittens as well.  In addition, we are trying to keep our windows open as long as we can to keep the fresh air circulating. It would help if your child had an extra sweatshirt or fleece for the classroom.  We are unable to loan clothes this year.

Our process is going great.  Please remember:

  • During arrival, we ask that you do not go around other cars after you drop your child off.  Please wait while the cars in front of you let kids out and everyone leaves together.  I know we allow this in the afternoon, but I don’t have enough staffing to help direct traffic in the morning.  We ask that you follow these procedures to keep kids safe and to prevent accidents.
  • At both arrival and dismissal, please pull all the way to the end to allow for more cars
  • Please drive slowly when you are in the parking lot.  You never know when a child might dart out of nowhere!  Also, I have many staff members volunteering to help with the traffic and we don’t want anyone to get hurt.

Costume Parade

The kids had a great time dressing up today and looked wonderful!  They did a fabulous job all day.  I think the staff was even more excited than the kids! Here is the link to the Costume Parade.  Ms. Roth did a fabulous job putting this together (note – there were a large number of pictures that were submitted after the deadline that did not make it into the video). Real Kids Wear Pink Coin Drive

We collected a little more and our grand total is $1,063.051 to donate for Breast Cancer Research.  Thank you all SO much for your generosity!! Check out all the pink outfits in support of this initiative – Real Kids Wear Pink Pictures!

Thank you for all you do to support our school!

Have a great weekend!
