Letter from Principal Kloss, Dec. 16

Dear Elsmere Families,

Happy Snow Day! I hope your children and you are delighting in the day: playing in the snow, elaborate pretending (my kids loved playing “restaurant”) daydreaming, drawing, reading, the list goes on! As most adults have probably experienced, so many great memories can be made in this downtime!

And here we are in the week before the December school break! You can almost see the energy emanating around the school. Combine this with our theme of Kindness and you’ve got a fun little building.

This love of learning, collaboration and kindness will all come together next week in a unique whole school event. Our Buddies, (in which each younger student partners with an older student), will embark on a special mission of kindness, meeting other buddies from around the school to create cards for residents of local retirement communities. Our students of all grades cherish these partnerships and the opportunities to help each other learn and grow are invaluable.

In other news:

  • We still have covid test available for Elsmere families. These cannot be sent home with children. If you need any, you are welcome to stop by school during normal business hours (7:30-4:30 daily)
  • Please check Aspen to be sure that all of your information is correct, especially emergency contact information. We hope we will never need to use these! Please note that you may have multiple emergency contacts.
  • Today is a great day to label your child’s outdoor winter gear! This will help items, like these from our Lost and Found, move from “Lost” to “Found” more quickly.

Wishing you a lovely weekend! Enjoy these few photos from the week.
