Dear Elsmere Families,
We have some exciting news as we move towards our 100th day of school this year: No masks required at recess starting Monday
Beginning Monday, Feb. 14, students at the district’s five elementary schools will no longer need to wear masks during recess. This change is in line with the CDC’s determination that masks are not necessary in outdoor settings, in most cases. Mask use at recess will be optional and a student’s choice to wear or not wear their mask outdoors is to be respected by students and staff. Elementary families who do not wish for their children to take their masks off outdoors during recess should contact their child’s teacher. The indoor mask requirement for all students and staff remains in place here in the Bethlehem Central School District and in all schools in New York State..

A poem for Mother Earth
Enjoy this beautiful poem by talented Elsmere fifth-grader Brooke:
To Mother Earth we say today,
thank you, thank you and happy Earth Day.
From her oceans to her deserts, from her plants to her animals.
She is beautiful in every way,
and today we say happy Earth Day.
Earth Day is like her birthday, because when that was we cannot say.
This is her special day.
Thank you Earth and happy Earth Day.
If you’re a football fan family, enjoy a SUPER weekend.
