Letter from Principal Kloss, Feb. 28

Filed in Elsmere by on February 28, 2020

Dear Elsmere Families,

Monday, February 24th was the 100th day of school. This means we are more than half way through the year! We have so much to do over the next four months and we are gearing up for more great times ahead.

It was a busy week at Elsmere! Hoops for Heart raised over $600 last night for the American Heart Association while promoting good health for us all. Thank you to all of our participants. Thanks also to organizer Mr. Ridgway (and his son Andy and daughter Sophie), Mr. Valenti, and staff helpers Mrs. Christopher, Mrs. Greenman, Mrs. Peters, Mrs. Barcomb, Mrs. Lasky, Mrs. Sericolo, Mrs. Buffaline (and her son, Thomas) and Mrs. Davis (and her son, Rob). As you can see from the photos, we had plenty of teen and parent helpers as well.

Next week, we celebrate Read Across America. The Elsmere community is invited to celebrate with us. In addition to special classroom events, we will recognize Dr. Seuss’ contributions to the enjoyment of reading through:

Monday – Read My Shirt Day

Wednesday – Stripes Day (wear as many stripes as you can)

Friday – Crazy Sock Day

We will also be celebrating March Madness Elsmere Style. This is a totally new event for us and it should be lots of fun!

Coming home today are picture frames for your photos of our Elsmere Family Pets. We would love to see a picture of your special friend and hear how students show responsibility by helping care for your pet. If you do not have a pet, no worries. Just include a picture of one you might like to have (even elephants and sloths are ok!)

Enjoy a delightful weekend.
