Dear Elsmere Families,
Happy Summer! I hope these past three weeks have been most enjoyable for all of you. Elsmere summer staff have been able to get away a little and still do a lot of work to get everything ready for the fall. Click here for our google site with supply letters and draft calendar of events.
While Mr. Lis, Mr. Bill, Mrs. Lawrence, Mrs. Greenman and I have been working, some other Elsmere friends you know have been having fun.
For example, did you know that our class plants are wild about Uno? Lucky won this hand. And the office fish have been dominos champions, as they were in this photo playing with a contractor who stopped by.
If you have never played dominos, you might want to try Draw Dominoes. It is a very fun game, and all that is required is a set of dominos.
All joking aside, we have been very busy inside and outside the school! Our BCSD operations and maintenance crew literally moved a mountain (of woodchips) as they started to get the playground ready.
The tech department has also visited regularly to get our computers updated. They have a lion’s share of work around the schools this summer!
If you have passed the school on Herrick Ave. lately, you may have seen the brand new Elsmere Little Free Library, a gift that was unveiled at the closing assembly in June. It looks fantastic and everyone is invited to take a book (or two) and leave a book. A huge thank you to our wonderful Girl Scouts and leaders on this remarkable project for our community! What a great example of Elsmere PRIDE.
It has been great to chat with some of you students out having fun this summer. Please don’t hesitate to come say hi if you see me around town. I love seeing you!
Enjoy your summer!
Mrs. Kloss
