Letter from Principal Kloss, May 13

Dear Elsmere Families,

Summer seems to have arrived in a flash and we’re loving it at Elsmere. Our oldest to youngest students enjoyed some memorable events last week. Our “Big Kids” in fifth grade had a visit with Nature on Wheels who led them in exploring the Elsmere woods as well as teamwork and problem solving activities. The kindergartners performed some songs and led their guests in a sing-along under the canopy. It was a fun week for sure! Enjoy some  photos from  the week here.

We have a few special announcements for the coming week:

  • Our May PTA meeting will be held virtually on Monday, May 16 at 7pm. A link will be shared soon.
  • School Budget Vote, BOE candidate elections and Kids Vote Too will be this Tuesday, May 17 at the high school, 7am-9pm. Please educate yourself and participate in the vote. Here is the PTA communication sent out last week.
  • The PTA SilverGraphics Art Fundraiser is underway. Catalogs were sent home recently. You can order beautiful keepsakes personalized with your child’s artwork. These make great gifts and collectibles to enjoy for years to come! Orders are due by  Wednesday, May 18 Order online using Access Code:  EEart2022. Contact katherinemuzio@gmail.com with questions! After you enter the Access Code, you’ll be able upload additional art. All orders will benefit our school!
  • If you’re Looking for something lovely for your garden, you can do so AND support our 5th grade by making a purchase at Verstandig’s from now until May 22. Click here for details. With this funding, our fifth graders can to enjoy a number of special programs including Nature on Wheels.
  • Friday, May 20 is Walk and Bike to School Day at Elsmere. Join the fun if you are able!
