Letter from Interim Principal Andy Baker, May 4

Filed in Elsmere by on May 4, 2018

Dear Elsmere Families,

Happy Cinco de Mayo tomorrow! It is so great to finally have some warmer weather here.

Throughout the year we recognize the special people who keep our school running so smoothly. Monday we will recognize our cafeteria staff, Miss Sara and Mr. Paul, in honor of School Lunch Hero Day. They nourish the children’s stomachs with food and their souls with warm smiles! Wednesday is School Nurses Day. We are so fortunate to have Mrs. Isenberg as our school nurse. Her skills, dedication and caring are an integral part of Elsmere!

Next week’s special events:

  • Healthy Kids Week – see the flyer sent home to read about all the ways we will celebrate including Walk/Bike to School Day on Wednesday. Thank you to Melissa Hurt and Katie Urban for planning!
  • Teacher Appreciation Week – PTA sent home a list of ideas of how to show our teachers some love.
  • Grace Lin Author Visit – Wednesday, May 9th

On Tuesday, May 8th our 4th & 5th grade Elsmere musicians will perform their Spring Concert at 7pm at the high school. They have been practicing all year for this event which promises to be a treat for concert-goers.

If you are looking for a great Mother’s Day gift, next Friday and Saturday will be the Grade 5 plant sale here at Elsmere. Stop by to buy a plant and support our fifth graders’ trip to Nature’s Classroom.

Elsmere faculty will soon be meeting to discuss student class placement for the fall. If there is anything you would like to share with me before the process begins, please contact me at abaker1@bethlehemschools.org by May 18. As always, requests for specific teachers cannot be honored.

Sincerely,

Andy Baker
