Letter from Interim Principal Andy Baker, Jan. 5

Filed in Elsmere by on January 5, 2018

Dear Elsmere Families,

Happy New Year!  We at Elsmere hope you all had an enjoyable time over the winter break and holiday season!

Thank you for your flexibility and cooperation with helping the children adjust to our expectations and routines during the recent cold and snowy weather. Today, I sent the teachers and staff here at Elsmere a note of thanks for all they do to ensure the safety of the children and keep the focus on learning at the forefront!

We have many things going on here at Elsmere to start the New Year! This week we had our monthly meeting of the “Book Huggers Club” facilitated by our library media specialist, Mrs. Meyer (ask her for details on next month’s meeting!). The Grade 4/5 Math and Science Night is tonight, January 5th at 6pm. Next week we have a PTA meeting on Tuesday night at 7pm. We cap the week off with our January Assembly where we will be recognizing Elsmere’s own Katie Rowan (daughter of Elsmere teacher, Sue Rowan!) who this year received the honor of being inducted into the Bethlehem Central Hall of Fame. Katie, a BCHS graduate, is currently the head women’s lacrosse coach at Wagner College and was a member of the 2009 and 2013 World Cup gold medalist teams. [Link to information on this year’s BC Hall of Fame inductees:] We at Elsmere, along with the entire BC community, are extremely proud of Katie!

The Elsmere Winter Concert is at 7pm on Tuesday, January 16th. All of the performances will be held in the High School auditorium. Please come out and listen to the beautiful music our fourth & fifth grade students have been working so hard to create! The children will also be performing at our January assembly! As a reminder, please continue to check our website for updates on dates and times of all of our events.

Once again, Happy New Year and thanks for all you do to support Elsmere school!
