Dear Families,

Our fundraiser to build a water well in Chad, Africa has been so successful!!  We ended the coin drive today, collecting almost $1500! Thank you for all of your support with this important initiative!

I would like to thank everyone who donated to our Spring Food Drive.  We have families in our community who greatly benefit from the Holiday Food Drive, but continue to have needs throughout the year.  Our third grade students did a great job organizing and packing all the boxes.

We are in our second month of our Bus of the Month program.  This month the winners were routes #29 (second month in a row) # 42, #36, #32, #7.

The work of two dozen BC student artists was on display this week at the Legislative Office Building in Albany, where state legislators, staff, and visitors got to enjoy some of the best artwork created by students K-12 from across New York State. Bethlehem art educators selected the outstanding artwork for the 27th annual New York State Art Teachers Legislative Student Art Exhibit in celebration of Youth Art Month.  Congratulations to Ava Austin and Sandy Levin!

Slingerlands will participate in the Litterless Lunch program on April, 26, 27 and 28. For more information https://www.bethlehemschools.org/litterless-lunch-week-bcscd.

This spring, eleven of our 5th graders will be recognized at the Capital Zone Health and Physical Education Leadership Award ceremony at Hudson Valley Community College. These children demonstrate leadership qualities in their physical education class as well as their classroom.  Congratulations to Maeve Fitzpatrick, Maeve Conway, Claire Hutton, Caroline Davis, Ellie Cerf, Grace Chrapowitzky, Sanjay Raju, Owen Kross, Will Terrien, Henry Rulison, Nyle Dennin, and Anthony Gibbs for receiving the Sandra G. Morley Student Leadership Award.

Upcoming NYS Testing:  Our children in grades 3-5 will participate in the New York State tests. All children are required to take the tests and we ask that you avoid making appointments during the tests. Teachers typically start testing at about 9:30.
