Letter from Principal Bonacquist, Nov. 1
Dear Families,
Safety Drills
This week we had our first lockdown drill. This was announced to the teachers so they could prepare the children. We have three more to do this year and they are unannounced. We have been practicing evacuation drills (formerly called fire drills) and we had our first bus drill. I think you will find the document on the link helpful in understanding these – https://www.bethlehemschools.org/drill-scared-prepared/
New Clerical Assistant
Please join me in welcoming Jennifer Hammond to our office team! Jennifer will be working in the mornings until November 12, when she will start full time. Jennifer is working hard to learn the ropes, thank you for your patience with us as we make this transition.
Spirit Day
Friday, November 8th will be Spirit Day at Slingerlands. Show some school spirit and wear black and orange or BC school spirit wear. The online school is still open –

Book Fair is Coming!
Are you ready for a Scholastic Arctic Reading Adventure where there will be SNOW MUCH TO READ? That’s right, it’s time for the Annual Slingerlands fall book fair. This year the book fair will take place on November 7th (8am – 7:30pm) and November 8th (8am to 5pm). You should have received flyers home this week, including a schedule of when classes will be visiting the book fair.
Visit our Book Fair homepage to shop online (Nov.1 -Nov.14), set up eWallets, and more! Please use the QR code or go to:

The Slingerlands Fall Scholastic Book Fair is one of the most well attended and most well liked events of the year. For the book fair to run smoothly volunteers are needed to help with set up, decorations, running the days of the book fair, and clean up. Please look at the volunteer opportunities and consider joining the Slingerlands community for a fun few days of celebrating children’s literature.
We still need volunteers!! Follow this link to sign up for times to volunteer: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F084FA8AE2DABF58-book
