Toys for Tots

Once again, we will participate in collecting toys for Toys for Tots, which is sponsored by the United States Marines.  Please help out less fortunate children by donating an unwrapped toy. There are boxes in the lobby, by the cafeteria, and in the primary wing. The toy drive will run from November 19 – December 14th.

American Education Week

It was great to see so many families at school last week helping us to celebrate American Education Week.  Our students were so happy to have you visit! Thank you for your continued support – it is so appreciated!

Book Fair

Thank you for supporting our Book Fair. With your generosity we were able to donate 72 books to Grassroot Givers, valued at $350. Scholastic will actually double this amount and donate to their charities, in the name of Slingerlands Elementary.

Our book fair profit of $3,036.84 will be used to help fund several events and programs, such as author visits, which the students love.

A special thank you to Holly Andreou, Nicole Heckman, Kerry Pilek, Slingerlands staff and custodians, PTO and ALL our incredible volunteers! We are grateful for the generosity of your time and talents. Thank you for making this event a success!  Please note that you may still purchase books at our online book fair which runs through November 26. The link is:

Movie Night

The PTO will show the movie, Coco, on Friday, November 30th from 6-8pm. Admission is $2/person or $5/family.  Popcorn, snacks, and water bottles will be available for purchase. Important reminder – This is not a drop-off event. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

BCSD Holiday Food Drive

We will be collecting food for our annual food drive from November 26-December 13. You can find the list of foods here.

Have a great weekend!
