Letter from Principal Heffernan, May 26

Filed in Glenmont by on May 26, 2017

Dear Families,

Many thanks to the community for supporting the district’s school budget for the 2017-18 school year!  We are grateful for your support.

Congratulations to Mr. Rawitsch’s class for their performance in their play this past Thursday.

It’s June!  This means there will be a lot of activities and events happening until the very last day.  Be sure to check the website and read information coming home from your child’s teacher.  Feel free to call the office if you have any questions.

Our fifth graders have started many of the their end of the year activities as they complete their elementary school years.  They have already visited the middle school for a day, enjoyed their Pit Party in the Middle School thanks to our parents, and will soon be participating in the district-wide Survivor Day games in which they will interact in games and activities on mixed teams of fifth graders from across the district.

Our fourth graders will take the NYS Science performance test on Wednesday, May 31 and the written portion of the test on Monday, June 5.

The Art Show is coming!  We hope you can stop by on June 1 between 5:00 and 7:00 to view the beautiful art work and enjoy a snack courtesy of the PTA.  Each child has a piece of artwork on display.  The presentation of all of the paintings, masks, drawings and prints together is just gorgeous.  Many thanks to Mrs. Colleen Sieme and Ms. Kathryn Adams for all of their work in displaying the art.

All BCSD schools will be closed on Monday, May 29 to observe Memorial Day.  Enjoy the weekend.

Sincerely,

Laura Heffernan
Principal
