Letter from Principal Heffernan, May 4

Filed in Glenmont by on May 4, 2018

Dear Families,

Next week is Healthy Kids Week.  A flyer went home recently explaining how each school day will have a different theme, and on Saturday you can celebrate healthy eating with the family by visiting the Delmar Farmer’s Market. The YMCA will be here on Thursday, May 10 to engage our students in healthy, active games.  Many thanks to PTA Chairs Christy Venter and Kate Medhus for all of their work on this!  Check out their new displays in the main lobby of the school.

Next week is also Teacher Appreciation Week. We are grateful for all the love, time, and dedication that our teachers put into their work every single day for our Glenmont children. If you have some time this weekend, it would be wonderful if your child could write a note to their teacher. Or maybe you could email a short video (or photo and message), to or if you follow us on social media, direct message them to our Facebook page or Twitter account.

Please join us for the PTA Meeting on Tuesday, May 8 at 7:00. We need a quorum in order to elect our new slate of officers for the 2018-19 school year. This is a very friendly group; even if you have never been to a PTA Meeting before, you will be warmly welcomed!  Hope to see you there.

On Wednesday, May 9, our 4th and 5th grader will be having their spring Choir, Band, and Orchestra Concert at the High School at 7pm.  Good luck to our performers!

We’d like to thank the PTA for the wonderful Craft Fair and Book Fair from last week. Many thanks to the volunteers who made this all possible, including our Book Fair Chairs Linda Pauze and Jennifer Middendorf, Craft Fair Chair Erica Toth (with help from Liz Halvorsen), and 4th grade Bake Sale Chair Meryl Schwalb.  We love our volunteers!

Have a fabulous weekend.
