Letter from Principal Heffernan, Apr. 20

Filed in Glenmont by on April 20, 2018

Dear Families,

We were so excited to have the Harambee Dance Company from NYC here yesterday for an assembly with the whole school. They presented African drumming and dancing in an interactive and engaging manner. The children loved it! We will be posting a story about this next week on the website. Many thanks to Remeica Vaval and the PTA for making this program possible.

We would like to congratulate the following fifth graders for being named the winners of this year’s Physical Education Leadership Award: Katie Reynolds, Kaitlyn Robbins, Brody Staff, Logan Toth, and Macy Williams. These five students have proven to be terrific role models and hard workers. They will participate in an awards ceremony on May 7 at Hudson Valley Community College with other winners throughout the Capital District.

The Spring Book Fair is coming next week! In addition, the PTA Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, April 28 from 10a-2p. We invite you to stop by and shop!

In addition, the district will be holding the Wacky Olympics on Friday, April 27 at the high school. The doors open at 5:30p. There will be face painting, food, tattoos, and teachers from all of the BCSD schools including Glenmont competing in silly games. Admission is $2/person or $5/3 people. All proceeds will go to the Bethlehem Central Community Foundation.

Hopefully we’ll have some warmer weather this weekend. Enjoy!

Sincerely,

Laura Heffernan
Principal
