Letter from Principal Heffernan, Feb. 17

Filed in Archive by on February 17, 2017

Dear Families,

Thank you to all who participated in the Ronald McDonald House Read-a-Thon!  We hope that this was a positive experience for your child both in terms of celebrating reading and choosing to be kind.

Today our Guidance Counselor Michelle Lavigne offered a cybersafety presentation to our 4th and 5th graders.  Many thanks to her, the teachers, and the parents for coming together to engage our children in a discussion on how to stay safe and appropriate online.

Psychologist Randy Cale will be offering another Coffee with Cale presentation for district parents.  This one will take place on February 28 at 9:30am right here at Glenmont School.  The topic will be “Dealing with Childhood Anxiety: Practical Strategies for Parents and Kids.”

We have been noticing a car or two have been entering our parking lot via Farm Family.  Please note that this is an exit only.  We are grateful to Farm Family for allowing us to use this exit and we don’t want to lose this privilege.

Our PTA Lip Sync will now take place at the Middle School on Friday March 10.  Given the limited seating, we ask that grandparent and other extended family members stay home.  But they can always watch the DVD that will be filmed that night!

The PTA Math & Science Night is coming up on Tuesday, March 14, and the PTA Glenmont Gala is March 31 at the Normanside Country Club.  Finally, the PTA Krause’s Candy fundraiser orders are due Monday, Feb. 27.

Enjoy President’s Day and the February break!  See you again on Monday, February 27.

Sincerely,

Laura Heffernan
Principal
