Letter from Principal Heffernan, Jan. 6

Filed in Archive by on January 6, 2017

Dear Families,

Happy 2017!  We’re kicking the new year off with a Read-a-Thon to benefit the Ronald McDonald House.  Today representatives from the House came and spoke to our students about how they can help families of seriously ill children by reading during the month of January.  This is yet another way that we are implementing our “Choose to be Kind” theme here at school this year.

We have some other exciting events coming up this month.  Our 4th and 5th grade Concert will take place on Thursday, Jan. 19 at 7p at the High School.  Parent conferences will be held on Jan 25-27, and so the children will be dismissed at 11:30 on those three days.  Finally, the PTA Winter Carnival on Saturday, Jan. 28 will give your family a chance to escape from cabin fever for a day.

Are you missing any gloves, hats, scarves, or even coats?  We have been gathering a collection of all of these things in our lost and found box here.  Please stop by to look for your child’s belongings!  What remains unclaimed will be donated to charities over the February break.   Also, note that the Transportation Department also keeps a lost and found box.  You can give them a call at 439-3830 to determine a good time to stop by to look at their collection.  Remember, labeling all of your child’s belongings helps us in getting them back to you.

Enjoy the weekend!

Sincerely,

Laura Heffernan

Principal
