Letter from Principal Heffernan, Sept. 15

Filed in Glenmont by on September 15, 2017

Dear Families,

Thank you to all of the parents who came to Open House last night!  We hope the evening provided you with an insightful overview of your child’s curriculum and school routines for the year.  We are so lucky to have such an involved, active group of parents.  Thank you!

On Monday, Sept. 18 from 6:30-8:00pm, the district is hosting a Community and Activities Fair for BC elementary families.  There will be representatives from about 30 community groups that offer activities for children.  It will be held in the high school cafeteria.  If you are looking for ways for your children to get involved, this would be a great way to get started.

On Tuesday, the Board of Education’s regular meeting will be held at Glenmont School!  The Board likes to hold meetings in the different schools throughout the year  in order to make their meetings more accessible to the entire community.  Please join us in the cafeteria at 7pm.

There will be no school on Thursday, Sept. 21 due to Rosh Hashanah.  We wish our Jewish families a happy new year!

On Sunday, please join us for the PTA Fall Fun Day!  From 2-5pm, there will be bounce houses, a DJ, and lots of friendly Glenmont families in attendance.  It’s a great opportunity to meet your child’s new friends and their parents as we celebrate the start of the new school year.  See you then!

Sincerely,

Laura Heffernan
Principal
