Dear Elsmere Families,

Can next week be May already? This is often such a magical time of year for students, particularly many of our kindergartners and first graders who practically light up a room with all the light bulbs turning on over their heads!

This week, we celebrated Administrative Professionals Day. We are so very fortunate at Elsmere to have administrative assistants Joyce Calaban and Lisa Greenman. These professionals keep our school running so smoothly that often the work they do goes unnoticed. And the kindness they bring to our school is second to none. Please join me in thanking Mrs. Calaban and Mrs. Greenman for all they do.

Next Tuesday-Thursday, grade 3-5 students will be taking the NYS math assessments. We know our students will put forth their best efforts!

May 1-7 is national Screen Free Week. Everyone is encouraged to challenge themselves to a week of enjoying the great outdoors, games with family and friends, visits, books and just a break from digital entertainment.

In preparation for the up-coming BCSD School Board elections, Albany County League of Women Voters is hosting a Meet the Candidate Night on Tuesday, May 2 at 6:30 pm in the Bethlehem Central High School cafeteria. There will also be a regular School Board meeting on Wednesday May 3 at 7pm at the High School.

Enjoy a wonderful weekend!
