December 7, 2018

Dear Elsmere Families,

Happy beginning of the end of the 2018. Can you believe we are nearly a third of the way into this school year already? I hope it has been fun and productive for you. Personally, I am really looking forward to a new, healthy year!

Congratulations to our terrific CAPER readers who presented last night: Keane, Emily, Andrew, Mia, Miles, Holden, Liam, Charlotte, Delilah and sensational announcers Zoey and Bridger. Our next CAPER is January 30. We hope to see you there.

This week, we enjoyed informative and thought-provoking disabilities presentations by Lili Loveday from the OPWDD. Ms. Loveday will be back at Elsmere to talk with more students in the near future. Please ask your child about this meaningful presentation.

As we enter into the holiday season, I thank all of you for the spirit of generosity that you exhibit all year round. From older students sharing their time and talents to help their younger school buddies to donating goods to Equinox and the BC Holiday Caring and Sharing Drive, the small daily kindnesses displayed are so wonderful. At a time of year when “getting” is often on the minds of children, Elsmere parents can very proud of the generosity their kids show. In the words of Mohammed, “A person’s true wealth is the good (s)he does in the world.”

Welcome to our newest Elsmere friends, Ed T. and his family, including Ed’s Elsmere alum father!

Have a wonderful weekend. Maybe we will see each other at the parade this evening!

Sincerely,

Kate Kloss
