Dear Elsmere Families,

Congratulations to our wonderful student artists on a beautiful Art Show yesterday. The work on display in the school hallways was equivalent to the finest of galleries. Thank you to Ms. Traci Fortin and Ms. Gwen Kovachik on guiding our students in this endeavor.

As the end of the year approaches and we reflect on all the ways our children have grown, it’s hard not to be amazed. The learning curve of a child is so steep! Equally impressive is the great deal of activity and hard work put in by our many families to make this a fun and productive year. I would especially like to thank our PTA and its board, who were instrumental in making such great things happen.

Our awesome Elsmere Community Day is tomorrow, June 8, on the playground 2-4. There will be lots of fun games, crafts and refreshments to enjoy with your friends and neighbors. We hope to see you there. Tents and volunteers are still needed. Please see how you can help here.

Field Day is Thursday, June 20. If you are able to help at Field Day, please call the office. We can’t run this day without parent volunteers, plus – it is a lot of fun! Students should wear their “Team Colors” for Field Day:

  • Kindergarten: orange
  • Grade 1: white
  • Grade 2: blue
  • Grade 3: green
  • Grade 4: red
  • Grade 5: tie dye

Although they are beginning to dream of summer, our students are still busily involved in learning. Many special events and class presentation have been planned for the next few weeks. We hope you will be able to join us to enjoy the talents of the children!

Have a lovely weekend,

Kate Kloss
