Letter from Principal Kloss, Mar. 15

Filed in Elsmere by on March 15, 2019

Dear Elsmere Families,

Happy nearly-St. Patrick’s Day! Lucky the Leprechaun has been sneaking around Elsmere spreading good cheer, much to the delight of our youngest students. What a great reminder of the wise Irish saying, “Bricks and mortar make a house, but the laughter of children makes a home.” I would add to this, that children’s laughter adds something wonderful to any building!

Some photos of our week will be added to our Facebook page this weekend for you to enjoy.

Budget talks will continue next Wednesday at 7 pm in the high school as the School Board gathers information about various programs. Community members are strongly urged to become educated about the budget. The BC website and school board meetings are great sources of information.

Next Thursday, March 21 at 6pm, BC band members from fifth grade to seniors will be joining together in song at the district band festival held at the high school. We look forward to a delightful evening.   Friday, March 22 will be a conference day for BC faculty, which means that there will be no school for students that day.  Our science fair is quickly approaching! We hope to see all of you on March 26 at 6:30pm to view the awesome projects we have been hearing about. If you haven’t started one yet, it is not too late!

A note from our Food Services Department:  Are you a Stay at Home Parent looking for something to do and make a little cash? Become a Part of BCSD Child Nutrition Team as a Substitute! We have shifts at all BCSD schools (K-12) and shifts are during the day, so you can still be home in the mornings and early afternoons with your children! We will train you in the kitchen (no experience necessary) and your foot will be in the door for many opportunities for part or full time work in the future. If you want to learn more, please contact Allissa Eiser, RD, Food Service Director by email at aeiser@bethlehemschools.org.

Today, an e-mail about attendance will be shared with all families. Thank you for having your children here every day possible for learning and fun.

I wish you a wonderful, lucky weekend,

Kate Kloss
