Dear Elsmere Families,

“Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.” – Blaise Pascal.  I would venture to say that around every corner of our school, this ‘something incredible” is waiting. There is nothing quite as exciting as being a part of learning, both for the teacher and the student. Often, our students are also our teachers – sharing with classmates and adults their interesting perspectives and thoughts.

Elsmere PRIDE is already showing with kindnesses throughout the school.  For example, our kindergartners and their buddies helped each other acclimate with a tour of the classrooms. For our new families, Elsmere PRIDE is our special theme that encourages positive character traits every day in every situation: Personal Best, Respect and Responsibility, Integrity, Determination and Enthusiasm.

On Monday, September 23 BCSD is hosting a K-5 Activities Fair from 6:30-8:00 at the high school cafeteria. At least 30 groups will be present to share information about extracurricular activities for your elementary child.  Click here for more information or visit our website.

Banana Splits and New Student groups will be starting soon with our school counselor, Katherine Howell. Please return your child’s permission form as soon as possible to participate! Any questions, please email Mrs. Howell at khowell@bethlehemschools.org

Looking for some expert parent advice? Dr. Randy L. Cale, a psychologist and parenting expert, will be hosting three series of informative workshops for families entitled “Coffee with Cale” at some of the district’s elementary schools during the 2019-20 school year. The first event will take place on, Tuesday, September 24 at 9:30 a.m. at Glenmont Elementary School. The event is open to all district parents. For more information, please click hereor check our website.

As we begin this new year, we look forward to learning so much from each other and hope that each one of you will be a part of it.  Please feel free to call or e-mail the school (kkloss@bethlehemschools.org) or PTA board members with any ideas. Together, we can help connect our children with the many ‘incredible somethings’ waiting to be known!

Sincerely,

Kate Kloss
