Letter from Principal Kloss, Sept. 22

Filed in Elsmere by on September 22, 2017

Dear Elsmere Families,

Happy Autumn –  at least that is what the calendar tells us!  Regardless of the temperatures, it is a joy to be settling in to our school routines with your children. Our hallway gallery is dazzling with photos of the many families who are coming together to support our one big Elsmere Family. We are truly on our way to a great year ahead.

A special welcome this week to the Sims and Patterson families who joined us from New Jersey and Tennessee. We are happy to have you here!

Girls on the Run began this week under the leadership of Mrs. Lindsey Mooney. We wish our girls the best of luck as they develop healthy habits and attitudes while training for their 5K in November. Also this week, the quilt created by our springtime quilting group was donated to Camp Erin to be a comforting keepsake for a child adjusting to the loss of a loved one. Many thanks to our wonderful students and their coordinator Mrs. McNabb on this meaningful project.

Elsmere Rocks Dessert Party was a great success last week. Thanks to Liz Cartagena and Kathie Dubin for organizing the rock painting, Nicole Swinton and the Cicek Family for managing the dessert table and for all those who were able to contribute to this enjoyable evening. The painted rocks are beautifully displayed around our weeping cherry in front of the school. Please be on the lookout for other rock painting opportunities in the near future.

Fun and helpful PTA events continue this weekend with our giant garage sale on Saturday from 9-1. More helpers are still needed! It looks like the weather will be perfect to make this a terrific memory of Elsmere:

Wishing you a lovely weekend ahead.
