Letter from Principal Kloss, Sept. 27

Filed in Elsmere by on September 27, 2019
Dear Elsmere Families,

Next week we celebrate the contributions farmers make to our world through participating in the BC Farm to You Fest. Highlights include Walk to School Day on Wednesday, a veggie collection all week, and the Farmers Market Scavenger Hunt on Saturday.

On Thursday we will have our required Go Home Early drill with a 3:05 dismissal. All students are asked to ride the bus home that day to practice in case this option was ever needed. Please, no walkers, pick ups or bike riders for dismissal on Thursday, October 3.

Picture Day is Friday, October 4. Information was sent home earlier. Please call the office if you did not receive this.

A special thank you to members of the Elsmere Fire Department who began their yearly visits with our students to discuss fire safety. Now is a good time for you to check your smoke detectors, review an emergency escape plan at home, and discuss fire safety with your children.

Members of the fifth grade and their families enjoyed the first Elsmere grade level breakfast of the year today. Please see our list of upcoming events for future grade level breakfasts and other special Elsmere dates.

Congratulations to Glenmont Elementary on recently being named as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. This is a great feather in our Bethlehem CSD cap!

There is no school on Monday, September 30 which is Rosh Hashana. L’shanah Tovah to those celebrating!

Wishing you a wonderful three-day weekend.

Kate Kloss
