Letter from Principal Kloss, Sept. 7

Filed in Elsmere by on September 7, 2018

Dear Elsmere Families

What a joy it is to be back in the fun, learning and busyness of school. Your children are delightful and we are excited to be partners with you in their journey through childhood. We have planned so many great experiences and hope you will share your ideas with us too!

Next Thursday, September 13 is our Elsmere Open House Program for Parents/Guardians. This is an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, learn about the grade level curriculum, expectations, assessments we use and special events during the year. This is an evening for parents / guardians only so we ask that you find arrangements for child care that evening. This is a busy night at Elsmere, so parking is always tight. If you live close by you may want to walk over or carpool if you can.

The schedule for the evening is:

Elsmere Open House

Thursday, September 13, 2018

  • 6:15-7:00 – Grades 3-5 Classroom presentations
  • 7:00-7:30 – Parents can meet with special subject teachers, SESS and RTI staff
  • 7:30-8:15 – Grades K-2 Classroom presentations

Please check our website for updates and information about upcoming events and forms for our PTA Directory, membership, Fall Committee sign-ups, etc.

On Friday, September 14 we will hold one of our three yearly “Bus Safety Drills”.  All children including School’s Out, walkers and children who ride bikes, or get dropped off will get on a bus to learn about bus safety procedures.  The drill takes about ten minutes.

All Bethlehem Central Schools will be closed on Monday, September 10 for Rosh Hashanah. And, it is a long way off, but our Winter Concert has been changed from January 22 to January 29, so please mark your calendars.

Finally, a special reminder to please feel free to contact us if you ever have any concerns or suggestions. As a team with open communication, we can work through any bumps in road and pool our best ideas to make this a wonderful place and terrific year of learning for your child. I can be reached at kkloss@bethlehemschools.org, 518-439-4996 (school) or 518-439-6370 (home)

We hope to see you 6-7:30 this evening for our Welcome Back Dessert Party

Sincerely,

Kate Kloss
