Letter from Principal Ksanznak, Dec. 8

Filed in Hamagrael by on December 8, 2017

Dear Parents,

On behalf of the Hamagrael Elementary school staff I want to thank you for the wonderful Staff Appreciation Luncheon that we were treated to today.  The food was delicious and the auction items donated by the families were very thoughtful and greatly appreciated.  With the school schedule we have it is difficult for all of us here at school to find a common time to get together.  This is always a special event that all of us look forward to every year.  Thanks again for your generosity and support of the luncheon and a special thank you to the Hamagrael Staff Appreciation Luncheon coordinators, Cara Bashant, Katie Suhr and Nancy Ruth.  Congratulations on a job well done!

Today your child will be bringing home a few forms from school.  One is an “Emergency Early Dismissal” form which is for you to complete and send back to us here at Hamagrael by Friday, December 15.  This form helps us make sure the children get to where they need to be in case school closes early due to weather or some other unexpected event.  Thanks for your help with this.  The other form is a new program we are starting this year, “Reading for Ronald McDonald House.”  Children can find sponsors to pledge donations for books read by the children.  All proceeds will go to the Ronald McDonald House.  Thanks to Mrs. Held and Kathy Kearnan for organizing this event for our school community.

During the week of December 11-15 we will conduct a practice lockdown drill.  This type of drill will secure the school building and safely shelter all students, staff and visitors.  Our main priority is to keep everyone safe, so we practice drills like this throughout the school year.

On Friday, December 15 our students will be participating in a bus safety drill that will take place when the buses arrive in the morning.  All children will be placed on a bus.  This includes our students who are in School’s Out or who regularly walk or ride a bicycle to school.  The bus drivers will review the bus safety procedures that we have in place.

Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Hanukkah to those celebrating this holiday this coming week.

Sincerely,

Dave Ksanznak
