Dear Parents,

Happy Friday.  We had our second lockdown drill of the school year on Tuesday.  We had a representative from the Bethlehem Police Department here to help us and to provide feedback.  The children and staff did a great job and all procedures were carefully followed. Drills like our lockdown drill are an important first step in keeping our students and staff here at Hamagrael safe.  For a better understanding of the drills that are practiced during the school year visit the “Know the Drill” section on our district webpage.

Our January PTA meeting is scheduled for this coming Thursday, the 17th beginning at 7 p.m. in the library.  There will be childcare provided during the meeting.

We have a few additions to our calendar for the month.  On Saturday, January 26 we will have a Hamagrael Family Skating Night from 5:15-6:45 p.m. at the Bethlehem YMCA.  This is always a fun family event and no skating experience is required. I am living proof of that!

Our “Community Service Afternoon” has been scheduled for Thursday, January 31 beginning at 3:25 p.m. in our auditorium.  We will have more details about the event next week. In previous years our students have made cards for Veterans, sandwiches for the homeless, games for children at Albany Med to name a few.  I will have more information about the event next week.

The BCMS production of “The Lion King Jr” is coming up.  The dates of the performances are January 17-20. The shows begin at 7 p.m. with matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.  There are a lot of former Hamagrael students involved in the production and ticket information can be found on the BCMS Musical page on the BCMS website.

Have a wonderful weekend.
