Dear Parents,

Our Hamagrael Elementary School Winter Concert is scheduled for this coming Tuesday, January 21.  We have two performances planned for that date, one at 2:10 p.m. and an evening performance beginning at 7 p.m.  Both performances will be in our auditorium.  This Winter Concert will feature our Grades 4 and 5 Orchestras, Grade 5 Band and Grade 4 Choir.  Our 5th Grade Choir concert date has not been set yet.  Once it is set, we will let you know.

On Wednesday, February 1 your child will bring home their AIMSweb assessment report for their winter benchmark.  We use this assessment three times a year to check student progress and to help us plan instruction to meet the needs of the child.  We understand that this is only one measure and that a variety of methods are used to assess student understanding including teacher observations, class work, homework and unit projects.  You can find a letter about the AIMSweb report from our Assistant Superintendent for Educational Programs, Mr. David Hurst on our ASPEN page.

On Thursdays, February 2 we will have our annual Community Service Afternoon from 3:30-4:00 in the auditorium. This is our makeup date as our original date was a snow day on January 24.

Our CAPER program is set for Thursday, February 2 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in our auditorium.

On Friday, February 3 students and staff can wear black and orange, Hamagrael attire or a jersey from their favorite sport team.  We will celebrate School Spirit and the upcoming Super Bowl.

The Family Ice Skating permission slips are due to the main office by Tuesday, January 31.  The skating night is scheduled for Saturday, February 4 from 4-6 p.m. at the Bethlehem YMCA.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Sincerely,

Dave Ksanznak
