Dear Parents,

Our Hamagrael Field Day program is set for this coming Friday, June 14.  This is an event that our students and staff all look forward to as it is a fun school community event with so many fun activities planned throughout the day.  Thanks so much to our coordinators Kathy Kearnan- O’Meara, Kori Jones and Tanya Rhodes for the many hours they put into organizing this for us. Thanks also the volunteers who are taking time out of their busy schedules to help us during the day helping at stations, lunches and break times between activities.

Speaking of volunteers all of us here at Hamagrael know how fortunate we are to work in a school that has an amazing Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and volunteers who go above and beyond to help us throughout the year.  We would like to invite our parent volunteers to a “Parent Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast” on Thursday, June 20 here at school. The breakfast will begin at 8:40 a.m. in our cafeteria and there will be childcare available while you are here enjoying the breakfast and socializing.

Our Spring Run will be held on the 20th after school.  Hopefully the weather will finally cooperate this time.

Our Hamagrael “End of the Year” countdown officially begins on Thursday, June 13.  This is optional for our students and here is the schedule:

June 13: H – Hamagrael Day – Wear Hamagrael attire of black/orange to celebrate our school spirit

June 14: A – A fun-filled FIELD DAY

June 17: M – Mets day – Wear a jersey/shirt from your favorite team

June 18: A – Apple Day – Bring in a healthy snack to eat

June 19: G – Garden State Day – Wear a shirt from a favorite vacation spot like New Jersey

June 20: R – Reading Day – Bring in a favorite book to read during free time

June 21: A – A special Celebration Day-2019 BCSD Seniors from Hamagrael visit for a special ceremony at 2:30 p.m.

June 24: E – Extra Recess Day

June 25: L – Last Day of School – 12:10 p.m. Dismissal

Next week we will have our final lockdown drill of the school year.  New York State law requires us to have four lockdown drills each year.  All students, staff and visitors report to the closest classroom and follow procedures until the drill is completed.  We will notify you once the drill has been completed.

As we head into the final few weeks of school I just want to let you know how well your children have done this year both academically and socially.  It has been such a positive experience for me to see how excited the kids are about learning and being a part of this school community.

Have a wonderful weekend.
