Filed in Hamagrael by on March 1, 2019

Dear Parents,

Our Spring After School Enrichment registration goes live tomorrow, Saturday, March 2 at 9 a.m. and closes on Friday, March 8 at 5 p.m.  There are a variety of programs offered which provide our students with opportunities to explore new activities or interests in more depth.  The classes begin on March 11 and end on April 18.  Thanks to our coordinator Christy Doyle for organizing the program for our students.  Here is the link you can use to sign your child up:

Our Hamagrael Spring Book Fair will be here on Tuesday, March 5, Wednesday, March 6 and Thursday, March 7.  These are the hours the fair will be open:

  • 3/5 9am-8pm
  • 3/6 9am-8pm
  • 3/7 9am-5pm

You can also set up an account for your child to shop at the fair called “eWallet”.  This account will provide your child with an online account so they don’t have to bring money to school to shop at the fair.  Here is the link to sign up for the “eWallet” account:

Thanks to our Book Fair Coordinators Gianna Aiezza, Heather Cohen and Bill Ketzer for organizing this for our community and to the many volunteers who are here to help make the fair run so smoothly.

The annual Bethlehem Opportunities Unlimited (BOU) Spelling Bee will be held on Tuesday, March 5 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium.  Admission to the event is free and there will be raffle baskets, silent auction items, refreshments and a lot of fun!  The proceeds from the event help fund BOU grants for a wide variety of initiatives helping our student and community.  You can find more information about the Bee on our district website.

Our March CAPER program is set for Thursday, March 7 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in our auditorium.  Come on out to hear some great stories, there is a used book swap, new book raffle and refreshments at intermission.

As part of the “Music in Our Schools” month, our 5th grade choir students will head to the Empire State Plaza on Friday, March 8 to perform.  They will leave Hamagrael at 1 p.m. and will be back here at school by 3 p.m.  Our 3rd and 5th graders will be switching their lunch times on that day.

Friday, March 8

  • Grade 5 Lunch & Recess – 11:50-12:45
  • Grade 3 Lunch & Recess – 12:45-1:35

Thanks Ms. Richmond for organizing this for our students!

Today your child will be bringing home a DVD order form for our Hamagrael Lip Sync program.  This was a wonderful event and it is always nice to see the performances again.

Congratulations to 4th grader Quinn Behan for having his artwork selected to be on display at the New York State Legislative Office Building as part of the annual NYS Art Teachers Association Student Art Exhibit.  Quinn’s work is on display through March 7.

The Region 7 Odyssey of the Mind Competition will be held at Shenendehowa Schools tomorrow and our Hamagrael teams have been very busy for the event.  All the best to our students and parent coordinators.
