Dear Parents,

As a reminder all of our BCSD students will not have school tomorrow as the staff will be at our high school participating on a variety of workshops throughout the day.

This weekend a few of our Hamagrael Elementary School Odyssey of the Mind Teams will be heading to Binghamton, New York to participate in the State Championship competition.  All the best to our students and parent coordinators. There is a lot of information about the Odyssey program on our website and if you are interested in starting a team you can contact our district coordinator Rebecca Beiter at rbeiter@bethlehemschools.org.

On Tuesday, March 26 our 5th graders will complete the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program with a ceremony at 9:30 a.m. in our auditorium.  Our classroom teachers and Detective Beck have been working with the 5th graders on fundamental, basic skills needed for healthy development including self-awareness and management, responsible decision making, understanding others, communication skills and handling responsibilities and challenges.  Congratulations to our 5th graders for completing the program.

Our students in grades 3, 4 and 5 will be taking the New York State English Language Arts Assessment on April 2 and 3.  The assessments are used to help us improve our education and to look for areas of strength and areas we can improve on.  You can find more information about these assessments on our district website.

The Hamagrael Yearbook order deadline is March 29.  Your child should have brought an order form home or you can order online at ybpay.lifetouch.com and use the ID code 4405219.

Thanks to our Hamagrael Yearbook coordinators Julie Levin, Robin Dailey and Julie Gilboy for their efforts putting our yearbook together for us.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Sincerely,

Dave Ksanznak
