Letter from Principal Ksanznak, Mar. 23

Filed in Hamagrael by on March 23, 2018

Dear Parents,

On Tuesday, March 27 children in grades K-2 will have the opportunity to meet with children’s author Stephen Savage.  Mr. Savage is the author and illustrator of nine books for children and is the recipient of a New York Times Best Illustrated Book Award.  We are looking forward to his visit with us to hear more about this work. Thanks to our PTA for sponsoring our Visiting Author program and to our committee, Pam Held, Allison Reichman and Maisie Weissman, for their efforts in organizing this for us.

On April 11 and 12 our students in grades 3-5 will be taking the New York State English Language Arts assessments.  We use the results of these assessments to help plan our instruction and to look for areas of strength and areas we need to focus on in our program.  You should have received a letter from our Assistant Superintendent Mr. David Hurst providing you with information about the assessments and their purpose.  As always feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the assessments.

The Bethlehem Central School District is offering an Elementary Mathematics Parent Night on Monday, April 9 beginning at 7pm in our high school cafeteria.  The featured speaker for this event is Dr. Yeap Ban Har who is considered to be the most accomplished trainer and speaker in K-5 mathematics. We are looking forward to his visit as Dr. Yeap Ban Har will be here in the district providing our teachers with staff development while he is here in the area.  You can find more information about his visit and the parent night program on our district website.

Have a wonderful weekend and next week we have four days of school as our Spring Break begins in Friday, March 30 and goes until April 8.  School will resume on Monday, April 9.
