Letter from Principal Ksanznak, Mar. 31

Filed in Archive by on March 31, 2017

Dear Parents,

It is hard to believe that we will be in the month of April tomorrow.  We finished our Grades 3-5 ELA assessments yesterday and the next New York State assessments will be our Grades 3-5 Math test on May 2-4.

On Tuesday, April 6 we will have our final CAPER program of the school year.  The monthly reading program is always well attended and the kids really enjoy reading in front of an audience.  Thanks to our PTA for their support of the program, Mrs. Held and Mrs. Brooks for their efforts promoting CAPER, taking pictures and creating programs and a special thank you to our CAPER coordinators Sarah Metcalfe, Diana McGrath and Erin Rowe for all of their efforts throughout the year helping make CAPER such a huge success here at Hamagrael.

Congratulations to Hamagrael 5th grade Henry Castagna who had his art work selected to be put on display at the Legislative Office Building as part of the NYS Art Teachers Student Art Exhibit.

We just received word that the New York State annual “Bike to School Day” will be held on Wednesday, May 10.  Hamagrael Elementary is currently the Albany County defending champion.  We hope to keep the trophy here for another year!

On Friday, April 7 parents will be able to view their child’s progress grades in the areas of self-management and work habits.  You will receive an email when they are ready to view.  If your child receives AIS Services, report cards will also be posted on the 7th.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Sincerely,

Dave Ksanznak
