Letter from Principal Ksanznak, Nov. 1

Filed in Hamagrael by on November 1, 2019

Dear Parents,

It is hard to believe that we are heading into the month of November.  As always each month here at Hamagrael is full of exciting opportunities and activities for our students and families.

Today your child should be bringing home their school pictures.  We do have a school picture makeup date which is on Thursday, November 21.

Next week we have our 2019 Fall Book Fair with all of the proceeds going towards replacing the wooden playground.  The book fair will be open the following dates and times:

            Tuesday, November 5         9 a.m.-8 p.m.

            Wednesday, November 6   9 a.m.-8 p.m.

            Thursday, November 7       9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Also, Scholastic has a great eWallet feature.  It is an electronic payment where you set a maximum amount that your child can spend and it is linked to your child’s name.  Your child can give their name at the register and we will find the account.  You are only charged the amount they spend, what isn’t used in the account you are not charged for.  You can set up the account on the link below and you can also shop online and the books are shipped for free:

Thanks to Gianna Aiezza, Heather Cohen and Bill Ketzer for organizing this for our school community.

Our first CAPER (Children and Parents Enjoy Reading) program will be held on Thursday, November 7 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in our auditorium.  We have all of our readers and announcers signed up for the evening and even if your child isn’t signed up, come on over to hear some great stories.  There is a used book swap, new book raffle and refreshments during the intermission.  Thanks to Mrs. Held and our CAPER coordinators Marcene Lee, Jennie Mahony and Katie Suhr for their efforts putting the program together for us.

This month we also have our first parent-teacher conference days of the school year.  We will be dismissing students at 11:45 a.m. on the following days:  November 14, November 30 and December 3.

Please continue to check our district and school websites to keep up to date with upcoming events at school and district information.

As always you can check our virtual backpack for forms about upcoming events.  Here is the link:

Have a wonderful weekend and remember to turn your clocks back an hour on Saturday night.
