Letter from Principal Ksanznak, Oct. 27

Filed in Hamagrael by on October 27, 2017

Dear Parents,

The Halloween Party Committee will be hard at work this afternoon putting the finishing touches on to get the building ready for our Hamagrael Halloween Party.  The party will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and I look forward to seeing you tonight.

Next week should be a busy one here at school with Halloween on Tuesday and an author visit and our CAPER program scheduled for Thursday, November 2.  On Thursday during the day we will welcome local author James Preller here to our school.  James has written many popular children’s books including Bystander, Six Innings, and the Jigsaw Jones Mysteries.  Mr. Preller will be meeting with each grade level to talk with the children about being an author and the writing process.  We look forward to his visit.  Thanks to our Visiting Author Committee Maisie Weissman, Allison Reichman and Pam Held for organizing this for our students.

We will have our first CAPER (Children and Parents Enjoy Reading) program on Thursday, November 2 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in our auditorium.  This is always a popular event as children get to read a favorite story aloud to an audience. There is a new book raffle and a used book swap along with delicious treats at intermission.   You can bring a blanket to sit on, relax and enjoy some great books.   Thanks to our coordinators Marcene Lee, Jennie Mahony and Katie Suhr for their work on this for us.

Tuesday, October 31 is the last day to send in food for our food drive.  If you would like to send in any items, here is the list for each grade level:

  • Kindergarten – Individual boxes of cereal, oatmeal packets
  • First Grade – Canned goods – fruits, vegetables
  • Second Grade – Pasta, macaroni & cheese
  • Third Grade – Peanut butter, jelly, juice boxes
  • Fourth Grade – Snacks – granola bars, microwave popcorn, pudding cups, graham crackers, goldfish crackers
  • Fifth Grade – Canned goods, tuna, soup, chili, stew

We will have bins set up in the front hallway.  Thanks for your help with this project to help families in need.

Enjoy the weekend.
