Letter from Principal Ksanznak, Sept. 14

Filed in Hamagrael by on September 14, 2018

Dear Parents,

It was nice having the opportunity to meet with so many of you at our Hamagrael Open House program last night.  I hope that you enjoyed meeting with your child’s teacher to learn about the curriculum and expectations for the year.  All of us here at Hamagrael look forward to working with you throughout the year as a positive home/school communication network truly helps all children have a positive school experience.

On Wednesday, September 19 all Bethlehem Central Schools will be closed for Yom Kippur.

Each year there is a 100 mile bicycle ride that helps bring awareness to missing children cases and supports the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.  During the ride there are stops at various elementary schools along the route and this year one of the stops will be at Hamagrael Elementary.  We have organized a Hamagrael Team comprised of BC teachers, parents, support staff, police officers and community members who will be participating in the ride.  As part of the program we will be having assembly programs for our students on Thursday, September 20.  Our K-2 students will have an assembly about personal safety and our students in grades 3-5 will have a program about internet safety.

This evening from 4:30-6 p.m. at our high school there will be a closing reception for “The Best of Bethlehem”, an exhibition of K-12 students’ artwork.  The student work selected for the exhibition demonstrated excellence in artistic skill and creative effort.  Congratulations to our Hamagrael students who had their work selected to be a part of the show:  Avery Lobban, ManChun Heuston, Abe Pastore and Josie Kane.

We have our first Hamagrael PTA meeting scheduled for Thursday, September 20 beginning at 7 p.m. in our library.  Childcare will be provided.

Have a wonderful weekend and remember to mark your calendar for our Hamagrael Fall Family Picnic on Sunday, September 23.  This is always a popular event with great raffle prizes, music and dancing as well as delicious food.  The picnic will held from 4-6 p.m. here at school
