Letter from Principal Ksanznak, Sept. 6

Filed in Hamagrael by on September 6, 2019

Dear Parents,

It is nice to have the building busy once again after the summer break.  The children seem to be excited to be back and were able to quickly get back into the school schedule.  Thank you for sharing your children with us and we are all looking forward to a great 2019-20 school year.

On Thursday, September 12 we will have our annual “Open House Program”.  This is an opportunity for the parents of our students to meet their child’s teacher and to learn about the grade level curriculum, the expectations for academic work and classroom behaviors as well as special events and projects scheduled for the academic year.  This is an evening for parents only so we ask that you make childcare arrangements for the evening.  It usually is quite busy here that night so if you live close by you may want to walk over or to carpool if possible.  Here is the schedule for the 12th:

Hamagrael Open House

                        6:30-7:00 p.m.            Grades K-2

7:00-7:30 p.m.            Visit Special Subjects, Special Education staff and Response to Intervention (RTI) staff

                        7:30-8:00 p.m.            Grades 3-5

We are required by New York State to hold bus safety drills during the school year.  Our first drill will be held on Friday, September 13 at 9:10 a.m. when the buses arrive.  All children will get on a bus to learn about bus safety and rules of the road by members of our BCSD Transportation Department.  We will have extra buses available for our students who attend School’s Out, walk to school, ride a bike or are brought in by their parents.

Today your child will be bringing home forms from our PTA for you.  The forms you should be receiving are as follows:  Annual PTA Picnic, PTA Directory and Room Parent sign up.  Most forms will be sent home with the oldest child in the family.

Thanks again for all of your help and have a wonderful weekend.

Sincerely,

Dave Ksanznak
