Letter from Principal Reagan, Mar. 29

Filed in Eagle by on March 29, 2018

Dear Parents,

Next week brings us Spring Break.  We hope you have plans for family time and some outside activities despite the forecasted rain!  Our last two words of the week were quintessential and virtues; try to weave those words into your conversations with your children next week (especially grades 3-5!).

Today we had an assembly celebrating Read Across America and all the reading the students have been doing this past month.  Our building read for the month of March a total of 333,527 minutes!  We also just reached our $5,000 goal for 99 pledges so we will be planning a fun pie-in-the-face (adults’ faces :) event after break.

The week after break we have our last CAPER on Tuesday, April 10.  There are still slots for readers. If your child is interested in reading at CAPER please email Mrs. Parmenter at mparmenter@bethlehemschools.org.  CAPER is fun and fast and we love supporting our readers’ fluency so we hope you can join us.  You can even come in your PJ’s!

Just a reminder that grades 3,4, and 5 have our NYS English Language Arts Tests on April 11 and 12.  This year the state has reduced the number of testing days from three to two for both ELA and Math.  We appreciate whatever you can do to get your children on time to school and have a healthy breakfast before school every day but especially on our test days!

Enjoy your break,

Dianna Reagan
