Letter from Principal Reagan, Mar. 3

Filed in Archive by on March 3, 2017

Dear Parents,

It has been a full week back after break and lots has been happening at Eagle.  We had our first bus of the month “celebration” on Thursday morning.  Bus routes 4, 5, 8 and 14 were greeted by teachers and staff members with applause and a large banner.  We will continue to check in with buses each afternoon during the month of March.  I know the winning students were very proud and, overall, I feel the “kids” have been doing a great and trying really hard to give their best behavior on the bus.

A special thanks to last night’s annual BOU spelling bee participants.  While I was unable to attend, I heard our own Eagle teachers did a great job… (missing the word poliomyelitis!).  I heard there were many Eagle families cheering on our great spellers, I am glad so many could attend such a fun event.  The BOU (Bethlehem Opportunities Unlimited) is a not-for-profit organization that promotes prevention education and safe, healthy activities for the youth in our community. Their ongoing purpose is to prevent drug and alcohol use and other risky behaviors among young people residing in the Town of Bethlehem or attending school in the Bethlehem Central School District. It’s always great when we can have fun and help others at the same time.

Lastly, our March Madness Month of Reading will be starting next week. In addition to our usual prizes and celebrations the PTO has also set up a page where friends and family members can pledge donations in honor of a student reading.  Click on the following link to search for your child and make your donation online:  Once you find your child (search first name and last initial), you can share your child’s link via email and social media.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 from this project.  If every kid at Eagle raised just $25, we’d be there and then some.  Thanks for supporting this effort.

Our goal is 10,000 and we are already up to $578!  We have some FUN events planned for the students when we reach the $2500, $5000, and $10,000 marks. Read more about 99 pledges.

Have a wonderful weekend and don’t forget the science fair is Thursday 3/10 at 6pm at Eagle!
