Life-size interactive map of NY at Slingerlands

Filed in Archive by on October 18, 2016

Slingerlands hosted an 20′ x 30′ interactive floor map of New York state in the Common Area on Monday, Oct. 17 and Tuesday, Oct.18. Students learned about the state’s geography by completing a scavenger hunt on National Geographic’s life-size interactive floor map among other things.

The GIANT state map is one of 50 that National Geographic has gifted to each of the states as part of its initiative that allows students to engage in hands-on activities while learning about the student’s state specific geography. There are three New York maps that will travel around the entire state to different elementary schools, but Bethlehem gets to be the first one to test them out!
