A woman stands next to a young girl and boy at a tableOn Wednesday, December 20 and Thursday, December 21, local Author and former BC parent, Jessica Loy, visited Elsmere Elementary to talk to students.

During her visit, Loy met with grades K-3 and discussed the different types of animals she showcases in her book “Weird and Wild Animal Facts.” She then had them create there own wild animals with cutout pictures of different animal body parts.

For grades 4-5, the students were able to learn about things like how to tie knots, make a campfire and pitch a tent, just some of the things she talks about in her book “Follow the Trail,” which is described as a young person’s guide to the great outdoors.

Another cool thing the students learned, Loy’s children went to Elsmere!
