Mar. 9: One positive COVID case

Filed in Archive, District, District News by on March 9, 2021

One new positive case of COVID-19 was reported today, Mar. 9, at Eagle Elementary School.

  • A student at the Eagle has tested positive. Due to the date the student was last in the building, there was no exposure at school. The student who tested positive will not return to school until cleared by the health department.

Onsite rapid COVID testing of students districtwide is beginning this week. Small groups of students will be tested with a goal of testing between 10-20% of in-person students over a one-month period. Families will be notified directly if their child is selected for one of the scheduled testing sessions and more information will be shared at that time. The testing will provide the district with a useful tool to track possible outbreaks in the school community.

Please be sure to continue to fill out the daily COVID screening and follow all COVID health and safety protocols.

Do not come to school if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms:  fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, congestion or runny nose. In addition, if an individual in your household is symptomatic and is awaiting the results of a COVID test, please do not send your child to school.

Diagnostic COVID-19 testing information is available by calling the New York State Department of Health COVID-19 Hotline at (888) 364-3065 or on the Albany County Department of Health website
