Online 2020 AP exams are May 11-22

Filed in Archive, BCHS by on April 7, 2020

Traditional face-to-face Advanced Placement (AP) exams will not take place this year due to the continuing COVID-19 public health emergency. Instead, students will take shorter, online free-response exam. The exams, which will take place May 11-22, will only include topics students covered in class through early March. The AP exam schedule can be viewed here.

This year’s AP Exams will be open book/open note. For most subjects, the exams will be 45 minutes long, and will include an additional 5 minutes for uploading. Students will need to access the online testing system 30 minutes early to get set up. Most exams will have one or two free-response questions, and each question is timed separately. Students will need to write and submit their responses within the allotted time for each question.

Students taking AP world language and culture exams will complete two spoken tasks consistent with free-response questions three and four on the current AP Exam; written responses will not be required.

Students will be able to take exams on their Chromebooks or other device. Students will be required to take all exams during the administered test times.

Teachers will provide AP students with more specifics for each exam. For more information, visit the College Board’s Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page about the 2020 AP Exams, which was updated on April 3, 2020.
