Students, staff and families can expect to see some changes at the high school when classes resume on April 29. During the break, construction crews have been at the school configuring space inside and outside the building to allow work on the 2016 Facilities Improvement Project to move forward. Many of these changes will be visible to students, staff and parents, including:

  • HS Parking lot – To ensure safety for all, building contractors have fenced off approximately 23 parking spaces on the staff & visitors side of the main parking lot. This area will only be accessible to construction workers while work on the auditorium gets underway. Staff who park in the front lot will want to be aware of this new configuration. Students are reminded that parking rules will be strictly enforced through the end of the year.
  • Inside HS main entrance – The auditorium is now closed and is expected to be closed until April 2020 for extensive renovations. Temporary walls have been set up and have created a narrow entryway just beyond the main entrance to the school.
  • HS Cafeteria – Renovations to the high school kitchen will begin in June. A section of the cafeteria, adjacent to the kitchen, has been enclosed to provide a staging area for some of this work. Students and parents will be notified of any Food Service changes affecting the high school as they become available.
  • HS Library Media CenterHS Room D-122 is being prepared for use as a temporary library. The Library Media Center is expected to close for renovations on June 1.

We thank you for your patience as we work to build a better BC!
