In 2018, thousands of people in the BC school community took part in a Kindness Campaign that marked the month of October as Anti-Bullying Month in our schools. This year, members of the middle school and high school chapters of No Place for Hate — which sponsored last year’s Kindness Campaign — are asking students, staff and community members to do it again!

With a message of unity, the groups are asking all Bethlehem Central students and staff K-12 to wear blue to school on Monday, October 7. Last year, the response to Wear Blue Day was overwhelming, with people across the BC community showing their support of an effort that came with its own hashtag: #bekindBC.

Getting involved is easy! You can join the kindness campaign by wearing blue on Monday, October 7. Show your solidarity with photos of your students (staff, too) in blue and share them with us using the hashtag #bekindBC. You can find us on Twitter @BethlehemCSD or on our district Facebook page. Or email your photos to bcsdcommunications@bethlehemschools.org and we will share them for you.

Also, if you have a student who is interested in joining No Place for Hate or if you want to learn more about No Place for Hate activities at the middle school and high school, contact Megan Sanders at BCMS msanders@bethlehemschools.org or Lindsay Knott at BCHS lknott@bethlehemschools.org.

Both the middle school and the high school have been designated No Place for Hate schools. The mission of No Place for Hate is to create a positive school climate for all students. Learn more about BC’s No Place for Hate.

Watch for other No Place for Hate activities taking place throughout the month of October.
