Register now for Spring 2020 Continuing Education

Expand your horizons, explore a new hobby, or sharpen your skills with one of Bethlehem Central’s Continuing Education classes!

You can practice yoga, learn Italian, brush up on your computer skills or learn tips about saving for college or retirement by choosing from dozens of classes that begin will begin in February and continue into spring. Courses are open to all Capital Region residents ages 21 or over, with the exception of SAT review courses, drivers’ education and the Five-Hour Driver course. For courses accommodating a limited number of students, Bethlehem Central residents will be given first preference.

HVCC to offer 3-credit Early Childhood course at BC beginning Jan. 27, 2020

Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) will be offering a 3-credit Foundations of Education course at Bethlehem HS for the Spring 2020 semester. It will be offered on Monday evenings from 6:00 – 8:50 pm each week. This is one of the three courses HVCC plans to offer on a rotating basis each semester. These courses may help employees work towards their Level II New York State Teaching Assistant Credential, which has a requirement of 9 college credits.

EDUC 110 – Foundations of Education in America

Description: This course is designed for students having an interest in education as a field of study. The course will familiarize students with the history and functions of educational institutions as well as issues that impact students and teachers in learning settings from birth – grade 12. Students will explore the social factors, values, knowledge structures and technologies influencing curriculum and instruction. Up to 30 hours of unsupervised field experience also required in this course.

The Humanities Institute for Lifelong Learning (HILL)

Bethlehem’s Humanities Institute for Lifelong Learning is an independent organization offering opportunities for lifelong learning to residents of the Capital District. Information on HILL courses and programs is included in the Continuing Education course brochure mailed to district residents each fall and spring.
