Sample Quarantine Notification

Filed in Archive by on February 10, 2021

When a student or staff member in the Bethlehem Central School District tests positive for COVID-19, the Bethlehem Central School District assists the Albany County Department of Health (ACDOH) with its case investigation and contact tracing.

If it is determined that there was possible exposure at school. This is generally determined by looking at the date symptoms began for the individual who tested positive — or if no symptoms, the date of the positive test result. Then, the health department uses that date to establish a lookback period of two days for possible exposure. If the individual who tested positive was at school or work within the lookback period, the school district will then assist ACDOH with contact tracing to determine who was in close proximity to the individual who tested positive during that timeframe. If there was possible exposure at school involving a teacher or student, the Albany County Health Department will generally quarantine an entire classroom and/or school bus out of an abundance of caution.

If your child has been identified as a contact to a positive case, you can expect to receive information regarding quarantine similar to the information below. This information will be provided by the school district with follow-up from the health department.
