Dear Elsmere Families,
Happy Autumn! The quick change in weather certainly makes the point that the season has changed. Regardless of the weather, it is a joy to be settling into our school routines with your children. Our hallway gallery is dazzling with photos of the many families who have come together this year to support our one big Elsmere Family. We are truly on our way to a great year ahead.
Elsmere Pride is shining brightly! Every hour of every day at school we see an example of an act of kindness, determination, integrity and more. Our Student of the Week recognition is starting up again next week. In this program, students can be awarded Pride Slips by any staff member for demonstrating positive behavior at school. Tickets will be collected in a class bin. A Pride slip from each grade will be randomly selected as the Student of the Week. More details to come regarding slips that are awarded but not randomly pulled.
Staying Healthy
People with colds or those returning from covid absences are asked to wear masks to help prevent the spread of illness.
Thank you for sending in healthy foods for your child’s snack. We all do better when we feel well. Healthy eating is one way to help achieve this. Please remind children that snacks and lunches should not be shared due to allergies.
The BCSD Backpack Program
This program provides supplemental weekend food and snacks to support BC students. If you would like to have a backpack sent home with your child on Fridays, please contact our school nurse, Jean Isenberg, at (518) 439-4996 or jisenberg@bethlehemschools.org.
There is no school on Monday, September 26 for Rosh Hashanah. L’shanah Tovah to those celebrating!
Enjoy a delightful weekend and these photos of our week!
Take care,
Kate Kloss
